Head of Policy Planning and Communication Department at Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) of the Republic of Latvia

Mrs Anna Aļošina has more than 10 years of extensive experience at the leading anti-corruption agency of Republic of Latvia

Main area of expertise is:

  • Draft and lead the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy (a top strategy among OECD countries in terms of quality of strategic framework, evaluation practices and coverage; see Public Integrity Indicators);
  • Draft the national regulations on prevention of conflict-of-interest (CoI) in activities of public officials (including rules of asset declarations, restrictions and prohibitions of certain activities, policies of enforcement);
  • Assess requirements for internal control systems for the prevention of corruption and CoI of public institutions (including municipalities and SOE);
  • Conduct the tactical analyses to detect the corruption cases in activities of public officials;
  • Implement the recommendations issued by OECD, GRECO, EU, MoneyVal;
  • lead the Latvia’s evaluation on the UNCAC 2nd Cycle (e.g. self-assessment checklist preparation);
  • Lead the awareness rising activities for public officials, public institutions, NGOs.

Additional achievements:

  • Governmental expert for UNCAC 2nd Cycle (e.g. evaluation of Serbia - implementation Chapter II: preventive measures);
  • Latvia’s delegate to OECD Working Group of Bribery (WGB);
  • Junior Leader of EU Twinning Project “Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector in Armenia”.

Education:

Master’s degree in Law.
