Criminal liability in asset declarations

What are the consequences for misrepresentation or submitting an asset declaration late?

  • Criminal liability in asset declarations

Many years of experience of the Central Anticorruption Bureau in checking asset declarations indicate that the currently applied sanctions are inadequate and disproportionate. The current legal situation shows inconsistency in the sanctioning and treatment of those required to submit declarations. Some legal regulations requiring persons performing public functions to submit asset declarations do not contain any sanctions for misrepresentation in the declaration of assets. Another significant drawback of the current solutions is the lack of sanctions for failure to submit the final declaration of assets by the obligated person in the event of expiry of the mandate, dismissal from a position or termination of an employment contract. Detailed information on criminal liability can be found in the "Criminal liability" tab.
