The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted consultations with representatives of non-governmental organizations and academic circles as part of the work on the draft law on Asset Declarations.

On January 24, 2024, a meeting was held with representatives of the Institute of Public Affairs Foundation and the Warsaw School of Economics.During the meeting, the challenges of the current asset declaration system were thoroughly discussed, and the need for its reform was emphasized. The key assumptions of the draft law on Asset Declarations were presented, including the introduction of a single, unified legal act, the digitalization of asset declarations, the implementation of a new asset declaration form, and the introduction of real and adequate criminal sanctions for providing false information.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations and academic circles put forward their proposals for improving the system, such as modifying the method of determining the threshold for declaring asset components to allow for its valorization, replacing the current fixed threshold of 10,000 PLN.

As a result of the discussion, it was concluded that the adoption of the draft law on Asset Declarations will contribute to increasing the transparency of public life in Poland and significantly streamline the asset declaration process.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations and academic circles highly appreciated the proposed directions of change and declared their support for the legislative process.
